For some of us, the Christmas and New Year’s break might feel a little different this year. There may be feelings of loneliness, low self-worth and the need for support. We’re excited to announce the release of the final three Small Steps tools which may come in handy during this holiday season. Small Steps is a series of free digital self-help tools to support people to maintain or improve their wellbeing.
The three new tools are:
- Supporting others - gives you tips on what you can say or do when you’re helping someone who’s going through a hard time.
- Loneliness - asks you when you feel lonely and gives insights on why or what you can do about it.
- Building self-worth – activities to help you on your journey to gain self-worth.
They join the existing tools, which are:
- Gratitude practice
- Deep breathing
- Muscle relaxation
- Balancing mood
- Identifying signals
- Mindful watching
- Active listening
- Reframing thoughts
- Improving sleep
Check out the 12 tools on the Small Steps website here.
Small Steps has been developed in partnership with social enterprise Clearhead. They are housed on a zero-rated website which mean people don’t need data to use them.
Small Steps are funded by the Ministry of Health as part of the government’s commitment to expanding the range of digital wellbeing solutions to give New Zealanders improved access to wellbeing support.
