How Inpatient physiotherapists help you depends on why you are in hospital. How they help in your care may include:
- education
- positioning
- chest physiotherapy exercises for respiratory or musculoskeletal concerns
- exercise programmes
- sitting out in a chair
- progressing the distance you can walk
- organising equipment to help aid your recovery
- assessing how you manage basic daily activities before being discharged.
Inpatient physiotherapy services are available:
- 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday for all services
- 8am to 4:30pm Saturday and Sunday for acute respiratory, limited orthopaedic services and Emergency department and Assessment and diagnostic unit discharge assessments
- 4:30pm to 8am every day for acute respiratory service only.
